Did past life regression in my Tuesday night group last week. Was really interesting! Have never been too sure what to believe about past lives but I'll give anything a go..
anyway we did this deep meditation of going down in a life and the numbers going down and down and then when the lift doors opened I was in a past life... I was this beautiful girl with princess curls in this dress that looked like it was the 16th century or so.. I was riding a horse away from a man crying. I betrayed him utterly and had no remorse. Because of my betrayal he was killed. This guy loved me completely but I was not a particularly nice person and used people for my own gain. I have a feeling I wasnt avery nice person in past lives (which is perhaps why in this life I have sometimes felt like a bad person who needs to be punished in this life.. anyway this makes me feel better! cos I really havent been that bad in this life (could be questionable?!!!). Always wondered if the fact I hate anything around my neck like even a scarf in the winter could be because I got hung in a previous life? who knows?!! all interesting anyway! I have got into my Tueday night group. They are a nice bunch of people!
I still go to the Lighthouse on Mondays but it hasnt been as good lately. We had a lady doing tapping last week. But I couldnt keep up with the tapping and got lost (7 taps here, 4 taps there..), last night was colour healing which was quite interesting. Felt relaxed after the meditation anyway.
The trouble with therapy is it puts you in touch with your emotions. After having had therapy a few years ago now (in England) my feelings are no longer bottled up which is great! However, perhaps they are safer bottled up?! The last fortnight I was so grumpy I worried for peoples safety (a joke in case anyone was about to warn the police)
But honestly am I expected to be nice when:
* a customer complains about.. our prices, the queues at our tills, the time it takes for the receipt to print, costing $10 to become a summit club member
and as for customers using me as a clothes horse? I'll be walking past serving another customer when someone will throw clothes at me and when I deign to ask what they want me to do with them they either shout "I dont want them, put them back" or" I want them of course, put them up at the till" either way I'm stupid for not being psychic.. and how dare I be so rude as to ask.. and thats just the shop, as for childcare.. 16 dirty nappies in a row and then water play so 16 children to strip wet clothes off and change.. with lunch to be served in 5 minutes...
I moan and moan but I can see the funny side.. I watched a man f'ing and blinding at this poor girl in the supermarket over the price of milk (I mean honestly how is it this poor 16 year olds fault that the dairy farmers are upping their prices?? and this lady the other day starting shouting at this poor guying praying the weeds, shouting at him for poisoning her and to not do it while there were poeple outide.. anyway made me day when he didnt hear her so came closer to her still spraying so he could hear what she was on about.. she completely freaked and ran to her car speeding off..
So bearing in mind what it is like for the person in the shop I was super polite when i had to take my new broken bag back to the shop.. she was lovely to me too so i guess it works both ways!!
anyway better go, got to have dinner and go to one of my groups!

Have been attempting to take a bit more time off work and a little more time to myself by being social which has been good (I still work 6.5 days a week but that half day is damn good!!) I might even have 2 days off next week!! Might even be able to go for a swim which i've been saying i'll do for months now!! since i bought an eplilator last week so i would be hair free for swimming (and oz) rather than waiting to get legs waxed and faffing around shaving this means I now have to since I spent all that money!!
Am preparing myself for going to Oz! and bought a few things from Kathmandu!! may as well take advantage of my discount before I leave!! am wondering whether to get myself a sleeping bag as I lost mine in the first 6 months I was here and I really havent needed one to be honest but am thinking I'm more likely to over there. The trouble is I hate sleeping in sleeping bags. I get all claustrophobic and start to panic so have been looking at a cheap one that zips out as a duvet from kathmandu, that way at least I have a kind of blanket for when I'm in peoples camper vans or other peoples tents and stuff! I am not getting my own tent to carry around, I like travelling light!! but may be a sleeping bag will be a pain in the arse to carry? oh decisions decisions!! good job I dont have more stressful thinsg on my mind aye!??
dont know why I was in such a crap mood this morning. nothing had actually happened.. am off to one of my spiritual groups tonight though which is nice.. all meditation and healing and stuff at Anna's house, and Sharon lives round the corner from mine so she comes and picks me up so thats all cool. Last week was particularly good!
Am at Tasman Street most of this week which is great!! its so chilled and the weather has been great today so have been chilling outside with the babies! Its been pretty wet for the last couple of months, but I guess thats spring for you.
Have been missing having Phill around as hes gone and started his new job, but hopefully we'll manage to catch up one day aagain before I leave NZ!
Ambers coming to stay on friday night which will be cool, but already have plans to go to a sound healing concert so will have to catch up with her after I guess!! Busy, busy..!
Spent nearly 2 hours on the phone to Louise in Milan the other night which was great, finding out what shes up to and all about the lifestyle and customs in Italy. I ahd no idea boys and girls were brought up so differently or that people preferred to stay in theeir own neighbourhoods with entire families living in blocks of flats or streets rather than move oyut of area when you leave home and get married! Was so great to speak to her and catch up properly as its been impossible to get hold of her since she moved out there 2 months ago!

Dragged out an innocent backpacker (Sam) for a meal out and the cinema the other night. Wanted to go somewhere I hadnt ever been before so went to Cafe Affaire which has these stone grills they bring to your table and then you basically cook the meat yourself! It was cool anyway, yummy meal and good night. We went to see the film The waitress which was surprisingly good, made me laugh and cry and was really glad she left her crappy husband for herself rather than for another man. All to often women get rescued my men in movies and its nice when they rescue themselves!!
Went to see Atonement this weekend with Helen from work. Was a really good film, definately recommend it. Helen reckons I'm a sap when it comes to movies though as I either get petrified and jump out my skin or cry the whole way through! (only a few sniffles for this one though)!
had to share my room last night with nasty backpackers (backpackers are fine when their not in my room!!!) so was in a foul mood this morning as hardly slept. Didnt help that I got shook awake twice in the night with earthquakes, they were really mild but enough to wake me up. Looked them up on the web this morning only 4.8 on richter scale apparently. Am a bit worried Jimmy's going to ask me to move to Gingerbread House as it opens up on the 4th November, but he's a bit of a wuss when it comes to asking me to do stuff so If I just talk at him and dont let him get a word in whenever i see him i'm hoping he wont ask!!

The bell in my head..and conspiracy theories..
Remember me talking about that door bell a few weeks ago? and me saying the boys were playing tricks on me with it (its a portable dorrbell that kept going off randomly and at first it was only me that could hear it..?)
During the last week I was hearing it go off at random times.. but never when anyone else was in the room with me.. I was seriously thinking I was losing the plot. I ransacked my room time and time again and searched for it everywhere and ended up sleeping with ear plugs in or I would leap up in the middle of the night slamming the lights on and shreiking..
Matt swore he'd thrown it away and I almost believed him... until Phill's last night when it was going off every 5 minutes and I finally worked out he must be controlling it. I searched him and all of his stuff but couldnt find it anywhere.. so after I'd had my evening of drinking and it went off while I was having a cry to Louise ( I had a little meltdown - I think all the Kaikoura stuff and all the stuff that builds up within me finally exploded out of me) and the bell going off nearly finished me off!! poor boys.. dont know what Louise did to them but it appeared in my hand shortly after.. although worryingly I dont know whats happened to it since...
I was bloody lucky I didnt have to go to work at kathmandu or the childcare centre the morning after I can tell you! It was my day at the backpackers.. I had a shower so at least I smelt okay (even though I was vomiting at regular intervals) but all my clothes were dirty so pyjamas were the only option and I never got out of them all day.. the neighbours looked at me a bit strangely when I was putting out the rubbish and the backpackers checking in would look me up and own with confusion saying ur um "you in charge of the place?!"
I was completely useless answering peoples questions.. and amusingly the following day I was sitting next to this girl in the lounge and said "you look familiar" and had she stayed here before.. luckily she didnt click that I didnt remember her from the previous day when I had been thoroughly useless checking her in..!
Have been reading this book called Au revoir the last couple of weeks about this Aussie lady who went to live in St Caprais in France in the lot valley. Its like de ja vu as she talks of all these tiny places like prayssac, freyssinnet le gelat and pomerede.. I know all these places so well from when I was little and its weird hearing someone else speak of them.. such a small world! and to make the world even smaller I was reading it at work when Carolyn one of my workmates said oh thats by my friend Mary.. you should meet her... small world aye?!
I cant be the only person in the world that woke up Sunday morning groaning and saying they would never drink again but it really doesnt make me feel any better. I really didnt like myself for the next couple of days, and I couldnt get a clear picture of what had happened as Louise couldnt remember much and hadnt got a clue what she'd said to Phill about me to upset him.. but have been going to my spiritual groups the last 2 nights and went to see Anna today and am feeling much more inspired and happier.
on the bright side I was very introspective all of Sunday (in my miserable hangover) and its given me a chance to think..
I wonder whether I put too much pressure on myself by creating rules and telling myself things like no drinking and no men in my life until 2008 (made that rule in May.. ).. I am not perfect.
In the UK I was always trying to change myself but the only way I knew how to do this was by getting new haircut or by throwing everything away so I could "start again". I accept I am me and that everythings happens for a reason but I refuse to be stagnant and just accept things.. if I did that I'd just carry on making the same mistakes (and as it is it seems I have to learn them about 10 times before they sink in). I am a new and different person from the person I was 10 years ago.. and I am glad about that. I am different from the person I was in Worthing and thats good too.. and I can tell you for sure in another years time I'll be another person again..
The other day I was bitching about people who tell all their personal details on their blogs after I heard in a new story that the mother of that abandoned child "Pumpkin" had a blog in which she'd written all about her extra marital affairs etc.. I mean why would you? did she not think someone might read it and tell her husband.. I've always been very smug saying" Well I dont say anything in mine that I dont mind everyone knowing". In one respect thats right, I enjoy the freedom a blog gives me to express myself and allow people to get to know me..I dont put everythign on it. I eman I would like to butsome things are probably best left to the imagination.. However, I realise it does make me vulnerable. It gives people an insight into me.. allows them to know too much about me.. (maybe my future employers dont want to know about my drunken exploits?!!)
We watched a conspiracy movie the other night called zeitgeist.com (you can download it from the web). It really made me think.
Maybe us people are just pawns in someones game? and we are being controlled and told what to think? I am the perfect candidate for this.. I watch far too much TV and love reading cosmo magazine and keeping up to date with what angelina jolie and brad pit are up to (and of course tomkat).. this movie said that we are being taught not to think and question things...
I always thought ID cards were a good thing.. and didnt see anything wrong with the new american passports which have our DNA on? and micro chips for pets seems to be doing well so whats wrong with chipping our kids so we can find them when they go missing.. and we can find criminals when their on the run.. my theory was well i'm not a bad person so I dont mind them knowing where I am? naeive? me? it truly never occurred to me that they could be used to control us and that all our information is being collected and used..
I'd really like to see the movie again because to be honest I am a bit slow, and I'm so superficial nine of this stuff has ever occurred to me before. I mean i've heard rumours that 9/11 and 7/7 were not terorist accidents but actually government conspiracies but never really thought about how scary a concept it really is..

Why I am never going to drink again!
Oh god forbid! I woke up sunday morning and felt so hideous I couldnt decide whether to curl up and die, vomit or cry first.. It was 6am (I always wake up bright and early after drinking!) and it took me 15 minutes to find my phone (to find out the time and to check who on earth I had called in my drunken stupidity).. I knew I was in a bad way when I discovered that the phone was in my hand and I had slept clutching it..
Apologies won on the list of what to do first though as I could hear Phill getting up and ready for his early flight out of town. I actualyl had very little recolection of the night before and didnt know if I had done anything wrong but had a fair feeling I probably had and wanted to catch him before he left.. (we had gone out for goodbye drinks). Theres only so much you can apologise though - you cant turn back the clock.
Its all my fault.. I've been working way too much lately and my life has been ridiculously mundane. I go to work.. I come home.. watch Shortland Street and then go to bed.. and exactly the same happens the next day.. and the next and the next.. I've been close to explosion the last couple of days and having this feeling I need to let my hair down and have some fun. I should have taken a day off or texted my friends (who i have neglected comepletely lately) and gone out. If i'd met up with then for a drink or two, a meal or the cinema it wouldnt have built up into this explosion of feelings and the need to get plastered.
I worked till 8pm Thursday and then 10am till 10pm Friday for the kathmandu sale. I was so knackered - and so jealous of Phill when he came in having had a great nigth out on the town. I missed the one bloody night Nelson has street parades and parties and dance tents.. I was gutted. But theres me work as usual the next day.. By 9am.. (yes that is AM thats not a typo) i was craving vo9dka (no i'm not an alcoholic) and infromed everyone at work i was going to get extremely drunk after work that day!
It being Phills last night Matt, Louise and I wanted to go out and have a few goodbye drinks.. You'd have thought I might have learned from my mistakes by now but it seems not..
By 5:10pm I was armed with a vodka and orange (on an empty stomach). I did cook dinner which is one good thing I suppose.. not that it saved me. But I suppose I would have been drunk alot earlier...
After a few drinks we went down town as phills new workmates were metting up for a drink.. they seemed nice and thankfully they left before I got messy..
I dotn even remember most of it to be honest.. just these little images to torture me.. and of course the many photos people kindly took of me!!!
I should have known to stop when people in the toilets started saying hello.. of your the girl knocking all the bar stools over... ( I may have knocked one or 2 over once or twice...)
Anyway.. gotta go .. i shall continue telling you this tortuous story after work another day!!
I am taking the day off work tomorrow and have a doctors appointment (nothing serious - no need to panic!)

I am alive! just been working too bloody hard lately and been generally crap! But on the bright side my email box was nice and healthy when I checked it just now - so that made me feel popular which is always good!
am working at Tassie street all this week which is great and not too strenuous and I will probably stay behind each day after work to catch up on emails and all that stuff but for now some things never change and I need to get home in time for Shortland Street!
and you can look forward to update of my drunken escapades at the weekend!!

So the below photos are the walk phill and I went on the other day.. I feel like such a slacker that iI hadnt done the walk before. You'd have thought that the amount of time I've spent in Nelson that I'd have done all the local walks but no.. I've been far too lazy.. must get round to dunn mountain or whatever its called soon.
Anyway it was a nice walk, not the prefect weather were used to in Nelson but still good to get out of town and sit down and have a chat at the top.
I've been unusually slack in updating my blog the last couple of weeks so at least you've been spared the details of what I had for tea last night and all that! But this of course means I cant for the life of me remember what I've been doing.
Phill, Morgan, Matt and I went out for the night last week which was cool. Phill had passed his bus driving test so bought a bottle of red wine to celebrate so we played cards (you know all the normal drunken night ones like "shithead" etc which i have to be retaught every time I get drunk because last time I got taught I was drunk and cant remember). Morgan (this girl with the coolest alabama accent) bought a couple more bottles and then we ended up down town. I've always amused myself laughing at the people dancing on the tables at the Grumpy Mole (for some reason there are always people dancing on them?) but of course karma always gets you in the end because of course I ended up being one of those people, only I was a tad tipsy and its actually quite complicated to dance on tables and stay on it at the same time.. Morgan looked a lot better as you can see.. and.. the night started off with her dancing on the barrells in a bar somewhere.. (or did it end that way.. who knows?!
I was upset with myself (but I've got over it) as when I left kaikoura I told myself it was another new beginning and on no circumstances was I allowed to drink and get drunk (and lots of other things - you know me I like my lists!) until 2008.. so anyway thats that one out the window.. but as long as it isnt a regular habit I suppose I dont have to beat myself up about it.. everyones alllowed to have a drink or two every now and then right?!
Everyone was expecting me to have a major hang over the next day but I was fine.. or so I thought I was.. I'd fallen alseep in my new kathmnadu outfit (which funnily enough I'd been telling people at work was as comfy as Pyjamas) and so woke up in them. Anyway on the walk to work I realised that actually I was floating all over the place and that actually I probably hadnt sobered up yet.. Thank god it was only a short day at work!! Was very happy to collapse on the sofa when I got in from work.. Its been pretty quiet at the backpackers lately which has been cool. Phill's ended up being long term which has been great. I'm going to be really upset when he leaves to start his new job on the 14th. I like having someone to come home to in the evenings. I mean backpackers are all very nice and all but the same old conversation in mind numbing, its nice to come hoem ande someone ask how your day was.. and its nice to have someone to cook for and vice versa (I'd better not write too much as he's going to read this most likely!) But I havent clicked with someone in a long time and perhaps never been so honest about myself with anyone.. and that says alot. (see.. Phill why I was so shy about giving you my blog address?)
Have had a much quieter 2 weeks at work thank god! Have a day off today but then I will be working for 16 days straight before I get another day off.. hmnn yep I'm going to be a tad grouchy!
Was feeling a bit emotional the other day because I hadnt had enough sleep.. why do I need 10 hours sleep a night? those people who only need 6 dont know how lucky they are!! (but then again I love sleeping so maybe I am bloody lucky!) I think I just always want what I cant have.. I drive myself mad.. when I'm at kathmandu I miss the childcare centre and when I'm at the childcare centre I miss kathmandu!! (what can you do?!) Probably says alot about me, probably a personality trait I need to knock on the head.
Michelle (someone I work with) and I were in the corner near the sleep room with a couple of babies when the glass doors we were right by started shaking. I looked at them because it looked and sounded like someone was rattling them trying to get in. I was really confused at first until Michelle shouted out "Earthquake.. turtles everybody" and everyone leapt down into turtle positions, staff enveloping babies with their bodies. So I grabbed the nearest baby and watched stuff moving around, a puzzle fell off the shelf and the butterflies hanging from the roof were flying around. Apparently it was only 5.8 on the richter scale but it felt pretty shaky!
Been watching loads of DVD's this week (Phill and I persuaded Matt to let us borrow the DVD player from their flat) so thats a break from the crap on tv. Saw Apocolypto, Hot Fuzz, Scenes of a Sexual Nature and The Barber Shop this week. Apocolypto was really cool. I was convinced I would hate it and was calling it a boys film but it was really good and have got me really curious about the mayans and all that.. I must be really ignorant because I keep hearing about all this stuff I'd never heard of before. To be quite honest when I heard of the mayans for the first time it was in relation to the third planet and psychics talking in mayan to the dead mayans and the extra terrestial beings out there (or something like that) and I wasnt sure about it all.. all seemed a bit far fetched so when I found out that mayans actually existed I was quite taken aback (yes I know I worry about myself too). But in my defence my school history consisted of learning about the victorians for what seemed like 5 years on the trot and them jumping to high school where I learnt about russian history for 4 years.. any other years of history I know nothing about...
Had been watching way too much tv lately so went to the cinema last night to see "The Italian" which despite the name is in russian with subtitles. Have been meaning to see it for ages so was glad to finally get there. they have a good alternative films cinema here in nelson and have wanted to go for ages.. I can see why most foreign films dont make it mainstream but I love watching them..
