7 weeks to Go!

Its 7 weeks today that I go! I'm getting more organised, panicking more about money etc!! had to go to the opticians on Saturday which is never good when your trying to save money!
Met up with a few friends Saturday - Zarir, Alun, Gordan, and Taz (sorry I didn't buy any of you drinks) the money got spent on new glasses! It was nice to meet up and have lunch! (am getting very bored of baked beans on toast!). Found out that other friends Caroline and Christian are going off travelling too - maybe I'll bump into them somewhere!? I must email them and find out where their going! Mind you - the fact they haven't told me could be a hint!
The tenancy end on my flat on 1st January so I've got just over 4 weeks to store my stuff places and clean the flat to make sure I get all of my deposit back! the contract was very strict though - it literally has to be perfect! of course typically have kept it perfect for 6 months and then last night kicked a glass of coke all over the cream carpets!!
Its been bloody freezing but no snow yet in Worthing. I still live in hope that one day it will be a white Christmas!! Got my first Christmas card today so it must be officially Christmas! Have told the kids at work that they have to wait till the 1st so they are all patiently waiting till Thursday!
Am having my travel jabs tomorrow! theres tonnes of the things!! even though I don't like injections (who does?!) its kind of exciting cos its something to do with getting away!!

Bad Mood!

God I wish I was going away tomorrow! Am so fed up with everything here! My last working day in on Thursday 12th January and that can't come fast enough!
The kids (where I work - don't panic not got any of my own yet!) will be home from school soon so I'll have to get back to work - they're making apple crumble today. Not that I'll get to eat any!
My knuckles are purple from punching the bags too hard last night in Self Defence.. it just looks so professional working for an anti-violence project!!
At least I've sorted out where I'm going to live from 1st January to 16th January! My friends Anna and Chris are being wonderful and taking me in! They'll probably need a 6 month break after that to recover from that amount of time with me!
Discovered yesterday with my wonderful organisational skills that ny 2 weeks in thailand are in the monsoon season! Apparently theres only 2 months of the year its not advisable to go to Thailand - which are July and August! I am of course going in July!! Oh well lets home mum and dad get me that travel mac thats on my Christmas list as I think I'm going to need it!!!

Nearly 8 weeks to go!!

Handed the notice in on my flat a couple of days ago. I have to have moved out by January 1st! Mum and Dad have agreed to store my bike in the garden and my couch in the loft so now just got to find a home for the rest of my stuff for 6 months!!
I got news that I have got my sabbatical from work!! Yay! its unpaid leave for 6 months, and its great to know I have a job to come back to!
I went for an interview this morning to try and get some work for evenings and weekends before I go and when I come back. I think by the time my CRB check gets sorted I'll have left but it will be handy for when I get back! (When I'm penniless and depressed about being back!).
Got to get my visa for Australia sorted this weekend (I will be spending a couple of weeks there and need a visitors visa) and have a million questions to ask STA Travel!

Almost 9 weeks to Go!

I forgot to bring my things to do list with me to work today and am lost without it. I know I have tonnes to do but can't remember any of it for the life of me!!
Have been attempting to sort out a bank account for NZ. It seemed like a simple thing to do when I read the guide books but has turned out to be much more annoying to sort out.
Am £33.50 closer to making £3,000 as I sold a few bits in the local friday Ad, so whats that...£2,966.50 left to earn somehow by the time I go! Simple!
Am trying to work out when I should hand the notice in on my flat. If I moved out a little before I go that would save me money but then I have to find someone who is prepared to put up with me sleeping on their sofa for a couple of weeks!! Any offers?!

Preparing to Go!

My old friend Paul has persuaded me a blog would be a good idea to keep in touch with people when I go away, so here goes!
I've never done one of these things before and I'm not sure about the whole idea of people reading up on what I'm up to.. mayble I'd rather everyone didn't know what I'm up to!!
Anyway, I'm going to New Zealand on January 16th! 10 weeks to go!
So at the moment I've got a huge things to do list of all the things I need to do! (e.g make around £3,000 for travelling money, sell everything I own, and give notice on flat).
At least I can now cross off the list "tell people I'm going" as I went round my parents Sunday and told them I'm off and am begging work to let me have a sabbatical!
Of course now I need to let everyone know I've started a blog so thats another thing on the list of things to do!!
